I spent this beautiful afternoon, with a beautiful photographer & friend, taking beautiful pictures of one of my projects up beautiful Emigration canyon. It was an afternoon well spent!

Sneak Peak Meg & Dave

Here is a sneak peak of a wedding I styled and design for Mrs. Megan & her handsome Dave. I just loved how the talented Jacque Lynn captured the wedding dress and I can't wait to see more!

California Dreamin'

I was in California last week visiting family and meeting with new clients. One of my projects is a marriage counseling center in Corona Del Mar and I can't wait to get started!!

Before I begin my conceptual design for any project, I prefer to do a lot of research, internet surfing and "pinning" ideas. You will often find me in Barnes & Noble sifting through design magazines, taking notes with a pen in hand and a Starbuck Chai in the other.

With this particular project, I want to be very sensitive to my color and fabric choices.  Did you know that color and pattern can dramatically affect emotions? Of course you did! It is a powerful communication tool and can be used to influence physiological reactions. With that said - It is very VERY important for me to create an environment that is both comforting and calm for clients.

I stand true to my design philosophy - your home (in this case a business) should tell the story of who you are. It is also important to me that my design reflects the brand and attracts  certain clientele.

Lastly, the location is near the coast so I will definitely bring in ocean / beach influences; drift wood furniture, white wainscot, sea shells & light linen upholstery. Yum!

Shades of Light

I am searching for a dining room light fixture for my client. We want something clean lined with a touch of traditional elegance. One of my favorite go to sources for lighting is Shades of Lights and right now I have my eye on the Pencil Arm Modern Chandelier....

and the Soho Chandelier in Antique Brass

or maybe in Polished Nickel?!

Lastly, the Circlet Lantern

Which one would you choose?
