Before I begin my conceptual design for any project, I prefer to do a lot of research, internet surfing and "pinning" ideas. You will often find me in Barnes & Noble sifting through design magazines, taking notes with a pen in hand and a Starbuck Chai in the other.
With this particular project, I want to be very sensitive to my color and fabric choices. Did you know that color and pattern can dramatically affect emotions? Of course you did! It is a powerful communication tool and can be used to influence physiological reactions. With that said - It is very VERY important for me to create an environment that is both comforting and calm for clients.
I stand true to my design philosophy - your home (in this case a business) should tell the story of who you are. It is also important to me that my design reflects the brand and attracts certain clientele.
Lastly, the location is near the coast so I will definitely bring in ocean / beach influences; drift wood furniture, white wainscot, sea shells & light linen upholstery. Yum!
