Have you ever visited 15th Street Gallery? This little place is the perfect venue for a hip, classy party. Art Space by day, Holiday Cocktail Party by night. Like the one I set up below.

The gallery is located in one of Salt Lake's boutique districts, 15th & 15th in Sugarhouse. Surrounded by some of Salt Lake's best local restaurants; Mazza, Frescos, Paris Bristro, Caputos...Starbucks?

You must swing by to see all the wonderful local art and jewelry or just say hi to the gracious staff.

PCTV's Holiday Cheer

Park City TV received a holiday make over for this joyous season. The set design is by Jacque Riehl and myself representing Riehl Events. We did a couple of design segments with Terry (the bald guy in the image below) that will be shown over the next couple of days. Terry emulates the Park City personality...super chill, talented and an absolute dream to work with! You will notice some holiday decor I showcased in previous design segments. I like to refurbish and reuse :)

Studio 5 - Frosted Glass

When my sister comes into town, my whole world stops. With me in Utah and her in California, we get little time to play which is why we try to fit in all in a weekend and which is why I forgot to mention I was on Studio 5 last Friday. The segment was on frosted glass which is extremely easy to do. Frost mason candle jars would be a nice homemade touch to your holiday decor. Here are a couple of things I came up with.... I would love to hear about your own creative ideas.

Wood Tile - A new obsession

Have you heard of wood tile? It is pretty self explanatory - porcelain tile that looks like wood. But it is easier to maintain and clean then actual wood. Score! It is the perfect solution for someone that wants the clean classic look of wood in the kitchen with out the fear of it warping over the years due to moisture. And the best part is... the tile retails for only $2.80 a square foot. Double Score!

Wood tile has been my obsession for the past four months and I have seen it at all the major tile stores; Bedrosians , Daltile, Contempo, etc. Don't be surprised if you start to see it at Home Depot soon.

I am using wood tile in two of my projects this month and I am thrilled to show you a sneak peak of my client's home in Park City. We used this tile from Contempo Tile.

Here is the entry foyer tile design, we used the same limestone on the fireplace (above) to border the tile design.

Holiday Decor & Studio 5

A key element in designing a wedding is incorporating little details that are meaningful to the bride and groom. Of course the color, the flowers and the venue are important, but it is the personal touches that truly make the event magical and memorable for the happy couple.

The same key element should be applied when decorating for the Holidays. This season is all about being with family, creating memories and celebrating love. All the same reasons we celebrate weddings, so why not personalize your Holiday décor?!

Here are a few decorating ideas to make your Holidays more magical and memorable:

1. Christmas Story Books
Intermingle beloved Christmas reads throughout the home among your traditional Holiday decor.

2. Christmas Quotes
Create a piece of artwork using a quote from your favorite Christmas movie or song.

3. The Garland of Christmas Past
Display old Christmas photos and childhood ornaments on fresh garland. This will be a great conversation piece at the annual Ugly Sweater Christmas party!

4. Count Down Christmas Wreath
Together with your children build your own Christmas calendar. This activity you can recreate every year so have fun and get creative.

5. The Giving Tree
Have your family and holiday guests write down what they are grateful for this past year on hang tags. Tie the tags onto an arrangement of branches and display the “Giving Tree” in a place where everyone will be reminded of their blessings.

I will be sharing and expanding more on these ideas on Studio 5 this Friday. If you live in Utah and interested, tune into channel 5 at 11:00 am.

A little H & M love

This is old news by now, but the first H & M in Utah opened last week. This store was a must stop shop every time I visited my sister in California and now I finally don't have to travel miles away to stock up on fabulous, affordable style.

I was lucky enough to attend the press party the night before the grand opening. One great night of appetizers, fancy drinks, 25% discount and these stylish ladies. Let's just say we left our mark!

Happy Shopping!

Jo Totes

I just found out about this great online shop Jo Totes. A fashionable AND practical bag for all you photographers. The padded interior can be custom fitted not only to protect a camera and lenses, but also to accommodate and organize items like a wallet, music, phone, keys, cosmetics and more. What a genius idea! This is going on my Christmas wish list!

To the Birthday Girl!

There is no one I would rather be with right now then my sister Katie. Today (in NZ time) she turns 30 and it breaks my heart I can't be with her to celebrate. Katie and I share a special bond because we are the closest in age, which means we were always linked together and share the same memories.

Besides the obvious fact that my sister is gorgeous ! Check out this model shot...

She is musically talented, artistic, genuine and loving. Her beauty reaches beyond the surface to the deepest part of her heart. Her playful, adventurous personality is addictive and got us in a lot of trouble as kids!

I just adore my older sister and so lucky we share the same DNA! Happy Birthday Katie!

My dear friend Annie got married to her High School sweet heart in August. They have been dating for over 8 years, so I was very excited to hear they were finally tying the knot. Devin (the groom) is a wonderful guy and perfect for Annie. I felt very lucky to be part of their special day every step of the way.

Annie is very laid back, a "go with the flow" type of girl. Which is why I was not surprised she was an easy bride to work with. There was only one request - a bouquet of calla lilies.
